Fun In the Sun

Here are pictures of events from the summer. Enjoy!

My cousin, Jill, got married in June in the Mesa, Arizona temple.

A Tea Party event in Tempe. We represented Brenda Burns also, she had broken her hip just days before this. Poor thing :(

Another Tea Party, in Phoenix

I want this puppy....

Kyle is wayyy strong :)

4th of July up in Heber. Awesome, huh?

The grandkids..except for babies.

Sydney! haha, so cute.

I babysat Brooklyn and Brent a week or two ago. Brooke and I played a Princess game, which is why she is decorated with pretend jewelry. We had lots of fun :)

Walking Through Past Memories

Today I took a walk to some past memories..the elementary school that I went to, Hermosa Vista Skyhawks, and the home that we lived in for almost 11 years before we moved to Illinois. These are just a few pictures that I took..I had some fun with the camera, trying to be creative..but oh so not creative. haha. Hope you enjoy!

I miss my little friend...

About 8 years ago my parents decided to get a little dog, a Shih-Tzu in fact. He has been our family pet since then, and we have loved that cute little thing to death! Especially me!! He is such a little sweetheart of a thing, and whenever you were having a rough day you could always count on him to make it better. He was such a cuddler, which I loved the most. Well, now that I am away and married, I never get to see the little runt. I miss him a lot. Anyway, I came upon a bunch of pictures of shih-tzu's just recently, but I found this one that looked just like him when he was a pup!

I would give just about anything to have a little pup like this. Toby is adorable, this one is adorable, but let's face it, Shih-Tzu's in general are just adorable! I love them all, and I want one terribly. But, sadly, I can't have one :( Maybe one day though....

Happy Birthday Brent!

Brent turned one! Ryan and 'Drea had a party for him up in Tempe at this little water..park? But, it was fun, and as you can see the kids had a lot of fun. :) Enjoy!!

Sydney is just so cute, haha. I caught her just standing there making this face. Obviously she was in her own world.

And even Brent got to enjoy a little bit of water fun!

Oh the Summer Days of Arizona

Kyle and I have been busy, busy, busy!! Each day there is always something for us to do. We are closing in on the primary election (August 24th), and things are becoming more crazy. We have been busy with posting campaign signs all across the state, painting signs, going to Political Forums, Tea Parties, District Meetings and so much more! It has been a very industrious summer for us, and even more for Kyle's parents. But, it has been fun and I can tell you that I have learned and gained so much from what we have done this summer. I never thought I would be so intertwined in the political life, yet I have always thought it would be cool to be a part of.

Aside from work, we have also done a lot of fun things this summer. Cabin trips are our favorite :) I will post some pictures of those trips soon...hopefully tonight. But, other than cabin trips we have been to family birthday parties, weddings, and my cousins homecoming. But, most importantly.....We had our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!! Yes, you heard me right, we are no longer "newly weds!" We have officially "survived" (as people like to say) our first year of marriage!! We are pretty excited about that. Although the first year was tough (as most people's first year of marriage normally is), it was a blast and we absolutely love being married(yes, we still love each other)!!! :) Things are going great, and we are excited to be in our second year of marriage already. We are now looking for a place up in Provo for when we head back up(which will be at the end of August).

Well, we love you all! Hope all is going well with you.

The Burnt Forest after 8 years...

I was able to visit my parents property (which we now call "The Burnt Forest") up in Heber this past Monday. It looked to different and weird to me. I hardly recognized it. Someone had gone through the place and chopped down all the trees that we didn't get to from before we moved to Illinois. Now, the property is full of fallen/cut down burnt trees. Although, there are a lot of small green trees (which some were planted by us after the fire), and then some big green ones in the front of the property. But, to me, it looks so...open, and empty. :( Hopefully one day we'll be able to make good of this place and make it wonderful and beautiful again.
Here are some pictures that I took:

This is toward the front of the property.

The burnt trees that are laying every where throughout the place.

By the canal.

The canal toward the back of the property.

Where the small cabin once stood.

The water well, and in the back is the shed that we built after the fire to store tools for chopping down trees.

This is the "bridge" that was a little precarious and has since gotten a little worse.

Sweet Home Arizona

Much has happened since my last post....I seem to be a little behind. I apologize.
A Quick update: we decided to move to Arizona for the summer to make a little money for the next year or two. So, we are here now. We arrived early this morning, at about 1am. Kyle's dad is re-running this year for corporation commission, so Kyle and I will be helping a lot with that this summer.
I absolutely love Arizona and I am so glad to be back! (Even though it's going to be a tough summer, especially for Kyle...) But, it will be nice to see both sides of the family.
I hope to post some pictures soon...until then, "good afternoon, good evening and good night!"

A little news

So, not a whole lot has happened since the last time I posted something. But, there is something pretty cool that has happened. My cousin, Wesley Lancaster, has left for his mission! He left only about a week ago...i think...but it was just recently. He's only in the MTC now, but I'm just so excited for him to be out and serving the Lord! He will be serving in New Mexico (I can't remember the exact mission..). Here is a picture from the "Farewell":
Oh, and my friends Kaitlyn and Nicole [from BYUi] stopped in for a night as they were driving up to Rexburg from San Diego. I hadn't seen them since the wedding, but I loved hanging out with them for a day!

Kyle and I were able to go down to Vegas where my sister lives for Christmas. It was so fun! My parents were there too, along with Jeremy and Zach....and don't forget Toby! :) We went to the park, played some frisby and the guys played basketball. The kids were able to have some fun playing on the playground and Kenton especially loved walking off on his own, finding adventure in the wild wild desert. For Christmas, we played games and just enjoyed the company of each other. We also had a wonderful dinner that Aubrey had planned and made for us (with help from the family). It was yummy! :) We weren't able to stay long, sadly, because I had to work Saturday night.

For the New Years, I had to work the Eve night..but luckily we close at 10:45, so I was able to get off after 11. Forrest and Melissa were able to come over and celebrate with us! It was fun :) We had chocolate, Cheez-IT's and Jones for drinks.

Last week, I had the night off and we were planning on going somewhere..but we ended up playing "Hide-and-go-Seek" in our teeny apartment before going out. We figured since the movie didn't start till later that we didn't need to leave yet. So somehow we randomly decided to do this. It was seriously so much fun! We played for almost 2 hours. We got pretty creative though. We hid in places like on top of the fridge(K), under the bathroom sink(B), in the shower(K&B), on the kitchen counter(B), under the desk(K-like the picture shown below..isn't he so cute and helpless!?)..there were so many more! haha, but we would move things around to try and get ourselves into a certain place. Our apartment, with all the lights off, didn't go completely dark with a little light coming through the shades...but there were some parts of the place that were especially dark. Anyway, I just thought I'd share with you something fun that we did!Oh, a little update on Kyle's schooling...he figured out what he is going to do with school. He will be majoring in public relations and minoring in political science. We hope to be done in about a year...but might be a year and a half...

Love you all!

An Update

October:
I love Halloween! But when you are living in an apartment complex you don't get any trick or treaters. Also, Kyle and I are at that awkward stage where we are too old to go trick or treating, there aren't many options for married couple parties and we don't have any kids to take out trick or treating...haha...but we did go hang out with our friends, Forrest and Melissa. But before Halloween Kyle and I and Melissa and Forrest went to a pumpkin patch. It was real fun! Forrest and Melis took pictures...but they haven't posted any of them yet...just waiting ;) and then we carved them after that. haha, our pumpkins are still outside and they are looking pretty sad...
November:
Not much to say, but it is the beginning of the Christmas season! :) It's a happy month.
December:
IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME!! I LOVE CHRISTMAS!! I was working last night and Kyle surprised me with some Christmas decorations when we got home. He is so wonderful :) He bought lights and hung them in the window and got a 6 1/2 foot tree with lights on it and hung candy canes on it. It looks so beautiful and it makes me feel so happy! He's really good with surprises and he knows how to make me happy. :)

Things are going real well for us, we're both pretty happy and still so much in love! hehe...School is going well for Kyle also.

Anyway...that's about it. Hopefully some day we'll be able to post new pictures. I'm trying to figure out how to post a bunch of pictures on the blog without taking up a lot of space.
