3 Things

1. We got our new fridge today!! :) Yay! It's so awesome! There is so much more room and we just love it!!
2. The hiring department from Questar Gas called me today to set up an appointment for an interview. I have it tomorrow morning over the phone, pray that it goes well!
3. So there's a movie out in dollar theatres right now called District 9 and we're suppose to card everyone that is looks younger than 25 (I don't know, it's weird...it's my manager's rule). Tonight when I was working I carded this girl that (from first glance) looked young enough for that age range...well she said she didn't have it. She said she was 30 and that's when I realized that she was a little older. Then right away she said, "well I have my Temple Recommend that proves I'm old enough". And hearing this, I was shocked and kind of upset that she would actually use her Temple Recommend to get her into a rated R movie. I don't know what I should've done, but I know I should've said something at least. I mean come on! That is ridiculous to use something so sacred and important to get yourself into a movie that the church and definitely not the Lord is for and okay with. It just makes me mad. This isn't even the first time this has happened...
And then at work we have this student discount for all those that have there college student ID's for a price cut for a ticket. So all these BYU students use there card to get the discount to get into the rated R movie. Now, I don't care so much about the fact that they are seeing the rated R movie, that's their choice. But it's the fact that they use their BYU card for the discount when BYU has a standard, and watching rated R movies is not one of them (but the standard is to not watch them). I hope that some day the theatre will get the "okay" to not accept BYU cards for the discount when getting tickets to rated R movies. UGH! And this happens almost constantly. Most of the people that go into these rated R movies are BYU students trying to get the discount.
People are ridiculous...

First Day

Today was my first day of nursery! :) It was so fun! The kids are adorable. I won't start leading the songs for a couple of weeks though, but I am excited and ready to start! At first I was a little nervous to do it, but once I get to know the kids a little and got the hang of it all I felt comfortable about it. Since church I've been coming up with cute ideas in my head on how I will do everything, you know making it fun for the kids. It's going to be fun! :) Anyway, Kyle and I are going to my sister's house for dinner tonight at 5:30. We're having roast beef and mashed potatoes :) and other yummy things. We're bringing the salad tonight...but yeah, I need to prepare a few potatoes that Amy asked me to bring so that we can have more mashed potatoes :) yum!
Love you all!!

Good News :)

So the other day the repair guy came to check out our fridge (finally) and he decided that we need a new fridge. and GUESS WHAT IS HAPPENING ON MONDAY!!! (finally) We are getting a new fridge. Kyle and I are pretty excited. Yay!
Anyway, that was my good news...

Nature

Melissa and I have been going to the canyon where there is a trail along the mountains the past couple days to exercise. We went hiking up to the waterfall (which was gorgeous) yesterday and power walked around too. We also went on a little adventure and found this worn down home thing...but it was made out of cement. There was another smaller one over by the waterfall...we found out today that they used the bigger one for...well, something. haha, I don't remember what for but apparently there was a train track instead of the pathway made back in 1889. Pretty cool, huh? Back then they had some walls made out of the mountain rocks to protect the train from rockslides and what-not. Part of the wall was restored in 2007 for an Egal Project, but the rest is history. But yeah, the trees are turning gold and red...it is so pretty! Today we just went down the trail, we were hoping to find the end of it. Good thing we didn't do it...apparently it goes all the way to Heber. Haha! But we went pretty far, we probably walked between 2-3 miles today. It was pretty much awesome :) We like the wilderness...especially when the colors are changing like this, it makes it so much more pretty. On the walk we found several little water falls coming down the side of the mountain. They were teeny but so cute and it looked so pretty. There was also this tiny lake thing...we think it was for a resevoir though, it looked kinda gross and there was a dam with a bunch of intense things to make these spinning things go...hahaha, idk. But we believe that's what it was. Anyway....

So today I got a call from ron Jipson, who is the president of Questar Gas and he said that he'll talk to the hiring people and make sure they got my application. Then they will call me to set up an appointment for an interview!! Yay! I hope this works out...it would be so nice. Although I wouldn't be getting home till about 8pm everyday, the pay is worth it. Plus I get the weekends and I believe holidays off! So that's a plus. :) yay! I actually get to spend time with Kyle! Oh, and prayers would be nice :) We really need me to get this job, it is very important.

Today started out pretty good...Melissa and I went on our walk and stuff...then when I got home I got this really bad pain in my chest and the area above my stomach. It was like shooting/stabbing pains. It wasn't too bad at first, but then it gradually got worse and I could barely stand it. I had work at 4, but was praying and hoping that it would go away because I was having such a hard time walking around, let alone moving. The ibuprofen worked for a little bit and the pain wasn't so bad soon after I got to work. Then a little before 6 the pain all of a sudden got worse. Ugh, it really was no fun. But yeah, I don't know what it was...but I know I never want to have that again. Oh, and I am feeling better, yay!

Well, love you all.

Trying to be healthy

So today I worked out! I am so proud of myself :) I have had such a hard time to get myself to do it. And I felt so great afterward! So energized and better about myself, which is always good. Melissa and I decided that we'll work out together during each week. Tomorrow morning after we drop off our husbands at school we're gonna go walk a trail that she use to go to all the time. I'm pretty excited. Yay, the start to being healthy!
Tonight Kyle had an ultimate game, and it was pretty awesome. He won 12-4...and Kyle played so amazing! He's pretty good :)
Anyway, so yesterday I did send in my application to Questar Gas and I was suppose to hear from a guy about it...but I still haven't. So today I decided to call him to check on everything and make sure he got it. He didn't answer, so I just left a message....man I need a job. It would be a miracle and pretty much amazing if I got this job...I would feel so much better about our financial situation because I'm getting pretty nervous about the money thing. Alwell, that seems to be the case for a lot of newlyweds and/or college students. It's stressful though....
much love!
Brit
P.S. Kyle has a bunch of tests in the next weekish...prayers would be nice! Please and thank you :)

Scary Dreams

So the haunted forest/house was actually pretty fun. When we got there I was so frightened and I didn't know what to expect; if it was going to scare me out of my wits or just be lame. Well I tried to remind myself constantly in my mind that all of it was fake...so that helped. I told Kyle beforehand that he had to hold my hand the whole time...apparently I made his hand lose feeling and at one point his arm...Note to others: Don't ever try to scare me with a chain saw(haha). At one point of the haunted forest there were these 2 guys and one of them had a chain saw. The guy with the chain saw came right up to my face with the chain saw (which is really fake..but looked like it for the part) around me and I got so scared and couldn't believe how close he got to me. I booked it and ran hoping I could escape...but the guy ran with me...and he was right behind me the whole time. hahaha...and apparently Melissa did too. Kyle and Forrest stayed behind laughing...and yelled after the guys to keep running after us. Psh...meanies :P haha. I think that was the most scary part of the forest. It definitely got my adrenaline goin. Anyway..I thought it was pretty fun and pretty scary! Definitely worth going, I'm glad we decided to go!

So I wasn't feeling very scared after that, I was feeling more glad I went. Well Kyle and I came home and watched a scary movie. I was still pretty fine after that. Then we went to bed. I had all these scary dreams with all these famous murderers from movies...like Jigsaw from Saw and...I don't remember the other names...the sad thing is that I haven't seen any of the movies, just seen pictures of the guys and previews. They did have little sections for each of them in the haunted forrest...but i didn't think it scared me that bad. Anyway...I was up a lot and was afraid to go back asleep after I had the first dream. Anyway...that's my story, haha.

So today is Kyle and my 4TH MONTH ANNIVERSARY :) yayyy! Exciting!

Love you all :)

There's more to the dinner...

I FORGOT TO MENTION! There is dessert :) Chocolate flipping yummy cream pie! We won't be eating it till about 10ish...since we just finished eating dinner. Which, by the way, was so good! The steak was perfect, and even more with the famous delicious A1 sauce with it. Then the brussell sprouts were heavenly and brocolli so good. The toast had a great taste and the perfect crisp and crunch to it. Then lastly, the twice baked potatoes were so good and I want more..but I am so full..ughhh. Although next time I will get larger potatoes (we had more of the small/medium sized ones) and I won't stuff them so much. haha. But they were so good still!! The reason I probably won't stuff them as much as I did is because they overflowed and got all around the pan. I had piled them as high as the potatoe skin could handle because I had so much extra stuffin', and you know how I am...I HATE wasting food. It is seriously the worst thing for me...anyway...
Until next time :)

A Sunday Dinner...and more

So Kyle and I decided to make Steak for dinner :) Mmm..Mmm...GOOD! Along with it we will be having twice baked potatoes (another YUMMERS!), a fruit salad as a little appetizer (since it takes forever to make the potatoes and we are pretty hungry..so it'll hold us over till dinner is actually ready), then a bunch of vegi's like corn (for Kyle) and brussell sprouts (for me) and probably some other vegi's. We're both way excited..this dinner is going to be amazing! hehehe...right now we're just waiting for the potatoes to be done. Kyle's making the fruit salad right now though. Mmmm....
Anyway...so I have a calling now!!! I am the nursery/primary chorister!! :) All the kids are like between the ages of about 1 1/2 and 3ish...maybe there's a 3 1/2 yr. old..haha so yeah, they're like babies pretty much..and I'm not quite sure how excited they will be to sing, but we'll have to wait and see what happens next week. I'm pretty excited though, I get to work with the little children! :)
Kyle doesn't have a calling right now, they said that he's basically off the hook for now. I think Kyle's more relieved about that though. Not because he didn't want one, but with going to school full time and trying to get the grades he needs...it's really nice to have just one big thing to focus on. He has a little breather time until he does get a calling. But he seems to like the ward. He and the guys play basketball every Wednesday night and it is really good for him to go out and get to know some of the guys in our ward and just have fun. He is also on an ultimate frisbee team with Forrest (his good friend) and Forrest's ward. He has games just about every week...he loves ultimate, so I'm so glad he's doing this.
His friend Kalei plays ultimate too (he's really good) and they get a group together about once a week to every other week to just play for a couple hours. I wish I was better, haha...so then he can actually play with his wife too! haha..but me, being good at any sport? hahah..that's funny!
Anyway...I must go, the fruit salad is ready!! :)

Another night at work

I closed usher tonight at work...
The good things:
  • I found 5 dollars in the theatre
  • I found 2 pennies...
  • I watched a little bit of the movie Up
  • I love how I can get free popcorn and drinks

The down things:

  • I worked with a girl that is very annoying

All in all, it wasn't too bad...

So does anyone have any ideas on how to get yourself in habit to exercise...because I stink at doing that.........

Oh, and today I made some wonderful spaghetti for Kyle and myself when he got home from school. I need to improve a little, but all in all it was pretty good :) It had flavor, although I need to add some more spice. Kyle & I talked about what I needed to improve on and we agreed on what was missing. We also had yummy toast with it.

Tomorrow Kyle doesn't have class, so YAYYY!! :) It'll be a good day...although I work 6 to close again. lame.

But I am so proud of Kyle, he is doing so well in school! So yay!

Well, I'm gonna go now.

P.S. Is there a trick to either fall asleep quickly or to atleast sleep well??? Because lately..it hasn't been working out well for me.

P.S.

I will hopefully be able to get some pictures updated on here soon...we don't have a working camera right now so it's difficult...

An update..

Well I am working at the Dollar Theatre right now...but I am realizing more each day that this job isn't going to work out. So..I am on the job search again..well, on the side of working [obviously]. I am also a Mary Kay consultant that is giving us a little money, but definitely not enough. It's dificult to schedule appointments ahead of time when you don't know your work schedule.
So Kyle and I had an amazing Sunday dinner yesterday :) We had roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, then some vegi's, toast and a yummy drink. It was deelish. (Just thought I'd share..and possibly make you jealous ;))

Something random:

Last week we went to the park for dinner and had a picnic! It was so fun :) We walked around, saw some ducks and played on the playground. Hehe..It was a good day though.
I must go..I need to do some dishes, I am behind on cleaning. (oops!)

My Past Blog

So I had a blog previous to this one that I had on my own. And I wanted to delete that one and start all over so Kyle and I could have a blog together!! :) So here are the couple posts that I did:

Sept. 3rd 2009
It's amazing to look back and see how fast time has gone. It almost feels like it was just January and Kyle and I started dating, how weird huh? But now it is September, Kyle and I are married and are moved into our apartment in Provo. He's going to school while both of us are searching for jobs....we are out in the real world now, paying our rent, and food, etc...it is the beginning of a new life for both of us.

I think back to when I was young, always dreaming of the day that I would be married. Well it's that time now, and sometimes it is still hard to believe. But I never knew how happy you could feel and be. I didn't know exactly the feelings that would come with it. I figured that yeah, it'll be all fun and exciting. But no, I never expected to feel so happy because I'm with my best friend all the time and it is a blast!

The European Union commissioners have announced that agreement has been reached to adopt English as the preferred language for European communications, rather than German, which was the other possibility. As part of the negotiations, Her Majesty's Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a five-year phased plan for what will be known as EuroEnglish (Euro for short).
In the first year, "s" will be used instead of the soft "c." Sertainly, sivil servants will resieve this news with joy. Also, the hard "c" will be replaced with "k". Not only will this klear up konfusion, but typewriters kan have one less letter.
There will be growing publik emthusiasm in the sekond year, when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced by "f". This will make words like fotograf" 20 persent shorter.
In the third year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkorage the removal of double letters, which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horible mes of silent "e"s in the languag is disgrasful, and they would go.
By the fourth year, peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" by "z" and "w" by "v".
